Smooth Scroll ‘Back to Top’ of page using jquery
Make a simple text link in the footer of your page smooth scroll the page back to an anchor at the top of the page.
This script is from Chris Coyer’s CSS Tricks website and originates from Karl Swedberg’s Learning JQuery website
Add an anchor with an id of ‘top’ in the header or somewhere at the top of the page…
<h4 id="top">Call today
…and the link on your ‘Back to Top’ text with the url of ‘#top’ to instantiate the scroll to the corresponding id on the same page…
<a href="#top">Back to Top</a>
…and here’s the code for your scripts.js file or similar…

.replace(/(index|default).[a-zA-Z]{3,4}$/,'')
.replace(/\/$/,'');

var scrollElem = scrollableElement('html', 'body');
// Any links with hash tags in them (can't do ^= because of fully qualified URL potential)
$('a[href*=#]').each(function() {
